About Us

We wanted to create something useful and simple to use. This site is here to help people, help other people. Explain My Book is devoted to being an easy question and answer forum about any book. We hope you find the answers you are looking for, on any topic.

Our vision for the site

Explain My Book came about on a long drive one day, we thought there must be something out there to help students beyond their school district or city. Explain My Book gives everyone a place to ask or answer questions about any book.

Each semester students are assigned several textbooks and they need to be able to ask questions specific to that textbook. So here it is, a site where you type in the ISBN of your specific textbook and see who else out there is using it and might be able to better explain the theory, history or reasoning behind the lesson.

We are all "students" in life. While this started as an academic tool we soon realized it shouldn't be limited to textbooks and educational institutions. If you want to learn about a particular subject but don't have time or money to take a full college course, check out the book from the library and when you get stumped ask your question, hopefully there will be someone there to answer it. Are you wanting to start a hobby but have questions about it? Buy a book or check one out from your library on the topic of your hobby and ask away. Do you have a recreation book with directions that you just can't follow to get you to the destination? Ask the question and see if someone else has better directions. How about getting your author to answer questions? Find the author's website with a "contact me" page and let them know we are here and you have questions. So, now you have a place to go and get your questions answered, no matter the subject or level of your interest.

It is our full intent that this website fill the need for you to ask a question about any book in print and be able to connect with other readers that possibly have the same questions. We hope you find this site useful and simple! Enjoy!
